Virginia Tech offers a Bachelor of Science in agricultural education, preparing you for teacher licensure in the state of Virginia. Ag teachers provide instruction, support, management, and leadership to facilitate success for all students. They often manage and advise their school’s FFA chapter while fostering student leadership. Working with local businesses and in school laboratories, they also provide supervised experience on farms, and in feeding centers, greenhouses, meats laboratories, and so much more. Established as a land-grant institution, Virginia Tech has a long history of excellence in both agricultural studies and teacher education. Students of Virginia Tech’s Career and Technical Education program are prepared for successful licensure in the state of Virginia in in Career and Technical Education – Agricultural Education (Grades 6-12) and enjoy nearly 100% job placement in this highly sought after field of study.
