About the Event
Virginia Tech and the Town of Blacksburg’s Summer Arts Festival proudly presents The Novelist by Theresa Rebeck, directed by Robyn Berg.
This play runs on July 18, 2026 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and July 19 at 2 p.m.
This delicious play by writer for stage and screen Theresa Rebeck, is an intelligent and funny ensemble drama. A family of artists are both cruelly destructive and fiercely protective of one another. Paul, a Nobel winning novelist suffering from writer's block, his elegant but feisty wife, two sons- an actor and an antique dealer and the actor's girlfriend are together for the first time in ages. Enter Paul's new assistant, a talented writing student. Bitter, funny chaos ensues.
Visitors to the Blacksburg campus Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 10 p.m. will need to display a parking permit, utilize the ParkMobile app, pay the daily charge for a pass, or pay for parking using an hourly meter.
