2026 PAS Virginia Day of Percussion at Virginia Tech

The 2026 Percussive Arts Society Virginia Day of Percussion comes to Virginia Tech's Creativity and Innovation District Living Learning Center for an inspiring day celebrating percussion performance, education, and community. Organized by Annie Stevens, Associate Professor of Percussion at Virginia Tech, this exciting event features internationally acclaimed guest artists Quey Percussion Duo—Gene Koshinski and Tim Broscious. Renowned for their innovative performances, groundbreaking commissions, and engaging educational outreach, Quey Duo has earned international recognition through concert appearances, clinics, and masterclasses while helping shape the future of percussion through their artistry and dedication to music education. The day will include a Percussion Ensemble Festival for middle and high school percussion ensembles, with performances adjudicated by Quey Duo, as well as a Solo Competition open to middle school, high school, college undergraduate, and college graduate student performers. Participants and attendees will also enjoy masterclasses, clinics, and interactive workshops led by distinguished artists and educators. The event concludes with a 3:00 p.m. Closing Concert featuring Quey Percussion Duo alongside select competition winners, making this an unforgettable opportunity for percussionists, educators, and music enthusiasts from across Virginia and beyond.

Like any college campus, parking at Virginia Tech can be challenging without a plan.  On Saturday and Sunday, all spaces are open without permits and parking is free, but Friday requires some planning. We cannot reimburse or forgive any parking tickets.

Parking for drop-off is the parking meters behind Squires on Alumni Mall.

Large vehicle (buses and large vans) parking is available at the Chicken Hill parking lot for $8 a day by using the ParkMobile app.

Parking for personal vehicles is available through the ParkMobile app, or through the purchase of a $8 daily permit.
