Work toward a successful career in the film industry! A minor in cinema allows you to explore the areas of cinema production, film history and criticism, and related theatre studies. The full range of cinema courses are available for you to explore and enter the profession in a variety of roles.

18 Credit Hours for Minor 

Introduction to Cinema Course (3 Hours)

Cinema Electives (15 Hours)

 

What You'll Study

Students learn about the history of cinema, its visual designs and production methods, its role in modern social and political movements, and its business operations. Through hands-on projects, they gain experience in the art and practice of cinematography and filmmaking.

These hands-on projects are not only guided closely by our esteemed faculty, but feature strong collaboration with students and faculty of the theatre arts program.
