“Performing History: Women and the Vote”
A civic and cultural initiative to celebrate the centenary of the Nineteenth Amendment

The year 2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment. 

Students from Virginia Tech and Radford University, enrolled in the "Performing History: Women and the Vote" class, will present a devised theatrical work that explores the history of the women's suffrage movement in the United States . 

This project has been made possible through an Instructional Innovation Grant from the Virginia Tech Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, and a CVPA Research/Scholarly Project Award from Radford University's College of Visual and Performing Arts. Generous support has also been provided by the School of Performing Arts at Virginia Tech, the Virginia Tech Center for Humanities, the Department of Theatre and Cinema at Radford University, the League of Women Voters of Montgomery County, and the Virginia Tech Departments of English, Religion and Culture, and Apparel, Housing, and Resource Management.
