Classically trained violinist and singer-songwriter Gaelynn Lea presents an evening of original songs and fiddle tunes. She will also speak briefly about her life as a touring artist, her new initiatives for disability inclusion in the performing arts, and what she has learned along the way. The event will be presented virtually and streamed live in the Recital Salon, offering multiple ways to access and enjoy the evening with us. Live captions will be provided.
Since winning NPR's Tiny Desk Contest in 2016 with the haunting "Someday We'll Linger in the Sun," Gaelynn Lea has toured nationally and internationally. Her albums include "All the Roads that Lead Us Home" (2015), "Learning How to Stay" (2018), and "The Living Room Sessions: Gaelynn Lea Live" (2020). Gaelynn Lea is an internationally-recognized speaker on disability rights, accessibility in the arts, finding inner freedom, and living an enriching life; her speaking resume includes PBS NewsHour, BBC World News, the Moth Radio Hour, and two popular TEDx Talks.
