Ivy Walz is a distinguished mezzo-soprano who has performed with the Spoleto Festival, Cincinnati Opera, Syracuse Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, Resonance Works, and Tri-Cities Opera. Concert soloist engagements have been with the Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes, Akron Symphony, Symphoria, the Binghamton Philharmonic, the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, and the Eastern Connecticut Symphony. A dedicated scholar of art song, she has been invited to perform at prestigious venues and festivals including the International Music by Women Festival, Fall Island Vocal Arts Seminar, Finger Lakes Chamber Ensemble, SongFest, Cincinnati Song Initiative, Denver Art Song Project, Civic Morning Musicals, and Middlebury Song Fest. She is particularly recognized for her specialization in contemporary works by living composers, a focus that permeates her recital programs.
Ivy Walz is the Associate Dean for Faculty, Research, Creativity, & Outreach at the J.T. & Margaret Talkington College of Visual and Performing Arts at Texas Tech, and Associate Professor of Voice in the Texas Tech School of Music.
