A distinguished musician with a versatile collaborative career, Yang has been a prominent presence at major international festivals, serving multiple times as the collaborative pianist at the Bass Around Asia Festival in Taiwan and as a Collaborative Piano Fellow at the Bowdoin International Music Festival. Her recent engagements include a position on the collaborative piano staff at the Jacobs Summer String Academy and at the Thailand International Trombone Festival, collaborating with world-class trombonists such as Joseph Alessi, Brian Hecht, and Martin Schippers. Her collaborative highlights include playing a Faculty/Student recital with Gábor Varga, performing at Musiqa’s 20th Anniversary Concert, and recording Anthony Brandt’s chamber opera Kassandra. As an internationally invited recital pianist, she has collaborated with musicians across Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, and the United States.

As a composer, Yang’s work spans multiple styles and genres. Her award-winning orchestral composition, Portal, received its world premiere by the East Carolina University Orchestra (USA) and its Asian premiere by the YST Conservatory Orchestra (Singapore). During the COVID-19 pandemic, Yang engaged in virtual collaborations with artists such as Jon Dante (Principal Trumpet of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra), pipa player Li-Teng Huang, and violist Lauren Ross, producing works like arrangement of Laputa: Castle in the Sky and original work, Floating Rhyme. She also co-founded the H-Tone Electroacoustic Ensemble to explore multimedia and electroacoustic music. Her music, often inspired by Taiwanese culture, has been performed in prestigious venues such as Taiwan’s National Concert Hall, Taipei Zhongshan Hall, the Esplanade Concert Hall in Singapore, Moody Center for the Arts in Houston and others.

Her primary teachers in piano include Li-Chun Wang, Jongah Yoon, Virginia Weckstrom, Kevin Murphy, and Anne Epperson, and in composition, Ching-Yu Hsiau, Peter Edwards, and Ho Chee Kong.
