Virginia Tech String Day - Feb. 1, 2025

Join us for VT String Day 2025 where you will make music with other high school string players from across Virginia, participate in workshops and masterclasses with Virginia Tech String Faculty, partake in a mock All-State Audition, and read/perform new music in a chamber orchestra setting with the conductor of the Virginia Tech Philharmonic!  

Registration is required. Sign up by Jan. 13 to reserve your spot and a t-shirt.

  • 11-11:30 am Moss Arts Center tour (Moss Arts Center) 
  • 11:45 am-12:30 pm Mock All-Virginia Auditions (Living Learning Center rehearsal room)
  • 12:30 am-1:30 pm Lunch (Living Learning Center lobby)
  • 1:45- 2:45 pm All-Virginia Audition Prep OR Technique Class for students not participating in All-Virginia (Violins- Living Learning Center multipurpose room, Violas- Squires Student Center room 240, Celli- Squires Student Center room 243, Technique Class- Living Learning Center Rehearsal room) 
  • 3:00-4:00 pm Orchestra Reading Session (Living Learning Center Rehearsal Room)
  • 4:00-4:30 pm Ask a musician Q&A with faculty and current music students (Living Learning Center Rehearsal Room)

Like any college campus, parking at Virginia Tech can be challenging without a plan.  On Saturday and Sunday, all spaces are open without permits and parking is free, but Friday requires some planning. We cannot reimburse or forgive any parking tickets.
