"POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive" by playwright Selina Fillinger is a riotous comedy about the women in charge of the man in charge of the free world.

A derogatory comment, a summit gone awry, an anal abscess — it’s a bad day at the White House. When the President unwittingly spins a PR nightmare into a global crisis, the seven women he most relies upon risk their careers, families, and freedom to save the day. Selina Fillinger’s female farce, "POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive," is a riotous and irreverent look at sex and politics.

Fillinger's brilliant, all-female farce took Broadway by storm in a star-studded production that earned three 2022 Tony nominations.

Before several of the performances, Virginia Tech student groups, including VT Engage and the Political Science Club, will have representatives with civic engagement information in front of the Squires Studio Theatre. Additionally, the League of Women Voters of Montgomery County, VA has also provided voter registration information that will be available to audiences. You can also check your voter registration status or register to vote at: vote.gov.

Join us for a special panel discussion on Oct. 1 from 6-7 pm in Theatre 101, 200 College Ave., just prior to the performance. The nonpartisan panel discussion will feature local female leaders: are Leslie Hager-Smith, Mayor of Blacksburg; Lauren Colliver, Town of Blacksburg Council Member; Tanya Hockett, Town of Christiansburg Council Member; and, Mary Biggs, Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors. Farida Jalalzai, Associate Dean for Global Initiatives and Engagement, College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences, and Professor of Political Science, will serve as the moderator. This panel discussion is a free event and open to the public.
